I am in Kiev and am bored to death.  I am here all alone waiting out the weekend.  My court hearing for the "approval" or non waiver of the 30th days is Tuesday.  I wont be leaving Kiev until Tuesday AM, because Sveta needs to wait around till 4 PM Monday to get the NAC letter of approval.   By the way, I am adopting two kids.  The pictures of these kids can be seen as well as some of my travelogue at www.tspartnersinc.com/html/newsletter.asp.

If anyone is here in Kiev this weekend, I would love to hear from you.   My phone # is 011-38-050-175-40-18.      (cell phone in Ukraine).   Or, if anyone else wants to call and chat, feel free!    I got these kids on the first referral.   They are from the Kaniv internat, which is about 200 kilometers south of Kiev.     By the way, there are over 200 kids in that orphanage, very well fed and well taken care of.   I will be getting email addresses at the internat, for those of you who wish to develop a correspondence with a Ukrainian orphan!   They do teach English at the internat, and several of the kids, "kind of" speak English and German.

Feel free to call me if you want any information about Kiev, Ukraine, Vlad or Sveta.   By the way, I highly recommend Sveta, she is the greatest.   I would definitely not accept the standard apartment they supply you in Kiev, for just a few dollars more each day, you can live in grand comfort!   For example, my apartment today is on the main street  about a block from Independence Square.   I am paying $70 a day for the apartment, but get a $20 credit, since Sveta pays $20 for staying "in region" and I chose to come to Kiev this weekend, rather than stay in Kaniv, where there is NOTHING TO DO .... and no internet cafes.

Another thing exciting, if you are into politics, there are all kinds of demonstrations going on today, in support of "Yushenko"  (spelling?)   kind of cool to be in the middle of history in the making..

Signing off for now.   If the 30 days are waived, I will be coming home probably next weekend,  if not  another 35 ish days in Ukraine.  So probably will see several of you one way or the other.   If I am "stuck" here.... I plan to spend my week in Kaniv (with the kids) and weekends in Kiev (washing clothes, eating real food, and just shopping etc).
